Summary: | <p align="justify"> The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries has increased its focus on aquaculture production by determining superior commodities, including catfish (Clarias gariepinus). Catfish has high economic value, is easy to cultivate, has high market demand, and is capable of mass breeding. However, many catfish farmers can only maintain their businesses within a few production cycles. This makes the supply unable to meet catfish demand. The biggest obstacle to catfish production is the increasing price of pellets. Therefore, the innovation is to use alternative feed to replace pellets, namely maggot Black Soldier Fly (BSF) or Hermetia illucens L. Maggot BSF is a healthy and natural feed that is easy to breed and cheap. Maggot BSF has a protein content requirement in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard guidelines, which is 25.22%-41.22%. Integrated catfish farming with BSF provides many benefits, but it is accompanied by problems that threaten business sustainability. In addition, efforts are required to anticipate and prepare for an uncertain future. The purpose of this study was to analyse the sustainability status and formulate management strategies for integrated catfish farming with BSF in West Java, with a view to the future. The sampling method was non-probability sampling with sample selection based on purposive sampling. The research was conducted in five business locations with a total of 37 respondents and three experts. Data were obtained from in-depth interviews, questionnaires, field observations, and the literature. The analysis included Multidimensional Scaling, leverage analysis, and Monte Carlo in Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries (RAPFISH), and formulation of management strategies using the foresight method. Based on the analysis, the sustainability status of catfish farming integrated with BSF in three dimensions is categorised as very sustainable, namely the ecological (82.373 %), economic (75.172 %), and technological (82.562 %) dimensions. The social dimension had a fairly sustainable status (65.410%). The management strategy based on foresight analysis is to increase the fish survival rate through the application of the latest technology, implement an efficient waste treatment system, create new product variants, and invest and develop by enlarging production capacity, establishing partnerships, seeking investors, strengthening supply chain lines, and improving production efficiency.
