Summary:Global sea level rise (SLR) is caused by climate variations happened in the last recent years. This phenomenon causes inundation in productive salt pond area, one of which occurs in the coastal area of Cirebon Regency. Coastal disasters have impacted the economy of coastal communities who make a living as salt farmers. Therefore, this study aim to discover the impact of sea level rise on salt pond production and its economic consequences in pengarengan and rawaurip villages, cirebon regency from 2018 to 2022. This research is a mix-method exploratory study that combines quantitative data analysis (questionnaires, spatial data and secondary data) with qualitative data (in-depth interview). This study shows that from 2018-2022 the two villages has significantly experienced SLR which caused inundation in the village's salt pond area. Furthermore, the inundation caused salt production in Cirebon Regency decrease from 92.000 tons to 155 tons in 2020. The spatial analysis shows that in 2022, the salt pond area in Rawaurip Village was affected by sea water inundation covering the area of 185.03 ha or about 51% of the total pond area of 356.07 ha. Meanwhile in Pengarengan Village, the inundation affected and covered the area of 106.10 ha or about 19% of the total area of 556.72 ha. Finally, the economic losses incurred were 4.7 M in Pengarengan Village and 8.4 M in Rawaurip Village.
