The research area is located in Kraksaan District and Paiton District. The majority of the study area consists of Quaternary alluvial deposits, which often experience liquefaction during earthquakes. Analysis of vulnerability and damage that can occur due to liquefaction in the research area needs to be done. In this study, analysis was carried out using the method and cone penetration test (CPT) and standard penetration test (SPT) for soil classification and correlation, analysis of liquefaction potential, and analysis of damage due to liquefaction. The research was conducted by calculating the safety factor against liquefaction (FSL), liquefaction potential index (LPI), liquefaction severity index (LSI), and deposit analysis at 10 CPT points and 17 borehole. The results of the analysis show that in an earthquake measuring Mw 6.5, 23 out of 27 points have layers with a safety factor value of less than 1 and a fine grain content of less than 35 percent. The LPI values in the study area categorized into the very low to very high and the LSI values categorized into the non-liquefied to high. The research area has a depositional environment in river channel, beaches, and alluvial. High-energy depositional environments such as rivers and beaches tend to precipitate coarse-grained deposits such as sand. This controls the distribution of coarse-grained deposits in the study area which affects the level of susceptibility to liquefaction. text |
