Summary: | Tomography refers to the cross sectional imaging of an object from either transmission or reflection data collected by illuminating the object from many different directions. It has anable doctors to view internal organs with unprecedented precision and safety to patient. Now, simple cone beam computerized tomography (CBCT) system is being developed in Biomedical Engineering ITB togather with Aerospace Engineering ITB. This system is called Cone Beam Simulated CT (Sim CT). Sim CT system consists of hardware (x-ray source, object rotator, x-ray film as detector) and image reconstruction software. The focus of this thesis is development of image reconstruction software and investigation of its performance. Algorithm which is used in the software is Feldkamp-Davis-Kress (FDK). Inputof the algorithm is roentgen images of the object and the output is three-dimensional tomogram. FDk has three simple steps: weighting of roentgen images , filtering of weighted roentgen images and bakprojection of filtered and weighted roentgen images. Experiment shows that FDK is able to reconstruct better three-dimensional tomogram compared to invers fan-beam tomogram dan invers radon tomogram. FDK is influenced by angular resolution of data acquisition. The smaller the angular resolution the better tomogram obtained. FDK is also influenced by distance betwwen reconstruction plane and middle plane. The nearer the distance the better tomogram obtained. |
