It is used to move material from one place to another by excavation. A surface modification with a coating material on the excavator bucket is needed so that the material being moved does not easily stick to the bucket. The coating materials that can be used are NiCrBSiFe and NiBSi, while the substrate material that can be used is structural steel 400. The coating method that can be used is flame spray. From the hardness test results, a higher value is obtained in the coating material, which is 228 - 292 HV. While the hardness of the substrate material, which is 115 - 170 HV. High hardness can provide better wear resistance, thus extending the service life. In addition, the coating material can provide a certain roughness that can affect the adhesion value. Where from the test results, it was found that high roughness resulted in low adhesion stress. So from the results of the research conducted, it shows that the flame spray coating produces better performance when compared to the substrate material. text
