People with disabilities may require better support and accessibility to overcome the challenges they face and achieve equal well-being compared to others. However, in the case of providing disability-friendly public spaces, many people with disabilities feel discriminated against because many public spaces, especially in Yogyakarta City, are not conducive to their activities when visiting. This study aims to examine the perceptions and preferences of people with disabilities and the elderly regarding the accessibility of public spaces in Yogyakarta City. The approach used in the study is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, with the analysis methods involving cross-tabulation analysis and ordinal logistic regression to identify the factors influencing the frequency of visits by people with disabilities and the elderly to public spaces in Yogyakarta City. The findings and results of this study indicate that not all public spaces in Yogyakarta City can support the activities of people with disabilities when it comes to availability and completeness of facilities. The level of safety in public spaces is one of the main factors considered by individuals with physical limitations when visiting these spaces. In addition, the condition of roads, sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, and transportation modes are also heavily considered as they do not meet inclusive standards and are deemed difficult to use when accessing public spaces. It is crucial to pay attention to the specific needs of people with disabilities and the elderly in the planning and development of public spaces. Inclusive and disability-friendly development should be a focal point in enhancing the accessibility of public spaces for these groups. text
