According to the ISO 9241-11 standard, the usability of a product can be assessed from the aspects of effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction. In existing applications, there are still aspects of usability that have not been achieved in the process of using the application, starting from when the user opens the application until the user finds and watches the desired show. Examples of the usability problems are text input problem in the search feature with an on- screen keyboard that slows down users in typing and too many show choices that make users unsatisfied with the selected show. To solve the usability problems of video-on-demand streaming applications on Smart TV, a prototype design of video- on-demand streaming applications on the Smart TV platform is implemented using a user-centered design approach in the form of a front-end module with a numeric keyboard feature that uses a multi-tap system and a show filter feature. The numeric keyboard feature is expected to increase user efficiency in typing and achieve efficient to use usability goal. The filter feature is expected to be able to provide a selection of shows with the criteria desired by users so that user satisfaction with the selected shows increases or achieves satisfying UX goal. After two iterations of implementation, the final application prototype was tested through usability tests using SUS, SEQ, Average Task Completion Time, and CSAT scales. In the test results, the final application prototype meets the criteria on each scale used so that each prototype feature goal is achieved. text
