INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/76335 Every individual has fundamental and diverse emotional feelings. Happiness, sadness, joy, fear, and anxiety are always present in daily life, from exhausting routines, burdensome office work, to various other activities. These emotional changes significantly influence the psychological aspects of human beings. Feeling happy can trigger the release of endorphins, which have a positive effect on the human body. The same applies to feelings of anxiety, sadness, and worry. Hormones in the body can affect the response to stress experienced by individuals. Stress during pregnancy can be caused by two aspects: non-physical and physical. The non-physical aspect involves factors such as information, support from the spouse, and experience, while the physical aspect is related to environmental factors. In addition to pregnancy-related stress, mothers can also experience stress due to diseases in the uterus (gynecology). Conditions such as cysts, fibroids, and the most serious one, cervical cancer, are concerning issues for women. In hospitals specializing in mother and child care, especially for mothers, both types of stressors often occur within the hospital environment. Therefore, it is important for hospitals to meet appropriate standards. Hospital facilities should not only meet the standards but also have a positive impact on both users (mothers and children). The Healing Environment approach is expected to help reduce the stress levels experienced by both users. However, the strategies implemented will vary depending on the specific stressors they are facing. Therefore, the design of inpatient rooms becomes a crucial factor for mothers experiencing both conditions in mother and child hospitals. text |
