MATHEMATICAL MODELING FOR THE SPREAD OF TUBERCULOSIS ASSOCIATED WITH POPULATION MOBILITY BETWEEN THE TWO REGIONS

Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. TB is transmitted through the air. TB sufferers can transmit these bacteria when they cough, sneeze, talk, or sing so people who are at risk of contracting TB are those who meet or are in the same area as TB sufferers...

TB is transmitted through the air. TB sufferers can transmit these bacteria when they cough, sneeze, talk, or sing so people who are at risk of contracting TB are those who meet or are in the same area as TB sufferers. In carrying out life, humans as social beings need to interact with other humans and often need to mobilize. This certainly can increase the risk of spreading TB. In this final project, a mathematical model is developed to describe the spread of TB related to population mobility between two regions based on the SIR mathematical model. The dynamics of the transmission model were analyzed and then a simulation was carried out to test the validity of the model and see the effect of the parameters used. Based on the simulation results, the greater the proportion of the population from an area that moves to another area and then returns to their origin, the higher the spread of TB in their area of origin. In addition, other parameters such as transmission rates and healing rates for each region also have a large influence on the spread of the disease. text
