One of the processing methods that can be used is photocatalysis. Photocatalysts can degrade synthetic dyes into compounds that are harmless to the environment with the help of sunlight. One of the materials that is often used as a photocatalyst material is Titanium dioxide, often called titanium. However, Titania still has a drawback, namely that the bandgap that Titania has is quite high, namely 3.2 eV. So that Titania can only absorb UV rays from all sunlight and reduce the effectiveness of Titania's photocatalytic performance. Therefore, a solution is needed to overcome this. A solution that can be used is to make Titania a reduced Titania. This can reduce Titania's bandgap so that it can absorb sunlight in the visible spectrum. The method used for the synthesis of reduced titanium is with the help of microwaves because microwaves have the advantage of being faster reactions and more even heating. Synthesis using a reducing agent, sodium borohydrate (NaBH4) In this research, synthesis will be carried out by varying the microwave power and time, as well as the concentration of the reducing agent NaBH4. The microwave power used was 100 W, 400 W, and 800 W. The times used were 40, 50, and 60 minutes for 40% concentration and 20, 30, 50, and 60 minutes for 50% concentration. The characterization carried out in this study included Visual Observation, XRD, SEM, FTIR, TGA, DRS UV-Vis Spectroscopy, and Photocatalytic testing. The minimum power used to reduce titanium with 50% NaBH4 concentration and 60 minutes of microwave time is 800 W. The minimum microwave time to indicate the formation of reduced Titania at 40% NaBH4 concentration was 50 minutes, and the minimum microwave time to indicate the formation of reduced Titania was 30 minutes. text
