Fig is used in traditional medicine for various ailments related to the digestive, endocrine, reproductive, and respiratory systems. Conventional growth of tin plants will take a longer time. A more optimal propagation of tin can be done in vitro by using a mist bioreactor. The mist bioreactor is characterized by the provision of medium by spraying with the help of air aeration from the pump, the spraying interval can be adjusted. This study aims to compare the growth of Ficus carica cultivated in mist bioreactors with variations of nutrient medium spraying 20 and 30 minutes every 6 hours with feasibility parameters based on mass balance analysis, multiplication rate, relative growth rate, average growth rate, nutrient consumption and uptake, and survavibility rate. F. carica shoot culture in mist bioreactor with 30 minutes media spraying interval every 6 hours showed feasibility based on mass balance analysis because biomass production increased 2,15 times, multiplication rate of 3,75 shoots/week, relative growth rate of 3,75 g/day, average growth rate of 1,93 mm/day, nutrient consumption and uptake of 10,6%, and survavibility rate of 87%. Meanwhile, the shoot culture in the mist bioreactor with a media spraying interval of 20 minutes every 6 hours had good growth as well, with feasibility based on mass balance analysis as biomass production increased 1,15 times, multiplication rate of 5 shoots/week, relative growth rate of 2,39 g/day, average growth rate of 2,35 mm/day, nutrient consumption and uptake of 8%, and survavibility rate of 95%. However, from these results it can be concluded that for seedling preparation, spraying the media for 20 minutes every 6 hours is better. text |
