Summary: | Safety assessment is an important process during aircraft development. The output from this activity becomes a foundation to create an aircraft maintenance program document. This document is a guideline to be used during aircraft operational life time. Safety assessment itself is a long and complex process where analysis to all aspects of the aircraft will be made. To assist in conducting the process, it is necessary to use software as a tool. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a research on the compliance of softwares available with a standard safety assessment process document, in this case SAE ARP4761. This document describes guidelines and methods to perform the safety assessment for certification of civil aircraft. This research is an evaluation of softwares which could assist in conducting the steps in SAE ARP4761. Those steps are Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA), Preliminary System Safety Assessment (PSSA) and System Safety Assessment (SSA). The softwares being analysed are from www.plantmaintenance.com portal website. This website is the most complete portal website in the internet on information in maintenance and failure analysis softwares. In the analysis a selection is carried out to abtain potential softwares to support in implementing the FHA, PSSA and SSA. The results of the observation and analysis on softwares indicate that RAM Commander, Reliability Workbench, CARE and Relex Studio 2007 comply with SAE ARP4761 safety assessment process. |
