On the one hand, limited land is an obstacle so that urban development continues to expand into the suburbs around it. The continuous development of the city to the periphery has resulted in Makassar City as the core city blending in with urban areas in the three surrounding districts, namely Maros, Gowa and Takalar Regencies. This is the basis for the formation of the Mamminasata Metropolitan Area. The development of the Mamminasata Metropolitan Area continues to occur which is marked by increasing economic growth, increasing population and physical changes in the area. In addition, the physical changes in the area that occurred, especially in Makassar City, had an impact on flooding in some areas. Therefore, this research was conducted to identify the development of the Mamminasata Metropolitan Area in terms of the economic, social, demographic and physical transformation of the area, and to see how land use change is connected with the flooding that occurred in Makassar City. This research is a mixed research because it uses qualitative and quantitative approach methods. The data obtained is secondary data. Economic transformation uses economic growth rate analysis, Location Quotient (LQ) analysis, shift share analysis and takes into account village potential in each region. Population social analysis uses population growth rate analysis, population projections and population density levels. The physical transformation of the area is studied based on the distribution of urban villages and changes in land use. Flood connectedness is seen based on spatial analysis based on flood-affected areas and changes in land use. The results obtained from this study, namely the economic, social and physical transformation of the area in the Mamminasata Metropolitaniii Area have resulted in most areas having the characteristics of urban areas, such as economic growth, increase in population and population density, increase in the number of urban villages, and increase in builtup land. It can also be concluded that there is a connection between changes in land use and the flood disaster that occurred in Makassar. text |

Administratively, Makassar City as the Capital City of South Sulawesi
Province continues to experience very rapid development. On the one
hand, limited land is an obstacle so that urban development continues
to expand into the suburbs around it. The continuous development of
the city to the periphery has resulted in Makassar City as the core city
blending in with urban areas in the three surrounding districts, namely
Maros, Gowa and Takalar Regencies. This is the basis for the formation
of the Mamminasata Metropolitan Area. The development of the
Mamminasata Metropolitan Area continues to occur which is marked
by increasing economic growth, increasing population and physical
changes in the area. In addition, the physical changes in the area that
occurred, especially in Makassar City, had an impact on flooding in
some areas. Therefore, this research was conducted to identify the
development of the Mamminasata Metropolitan Area in terms of the
economic, social, demographic and physical transformation of the
area, and to see how land use change is connected with the flooding
that occurred in Makassar City. This research is a mixed research
because it uses qualitative and quantitative approach methods. The
data obtained is secondary data. Economic transformation uses
economic growth rate analysis, Location Quotient (LQ) analysis, shift
share analysis and takes into account village potential in each region.
Population social analysis uses population growth rate analysis,
population projections and population density levels. The physical
transformation of the area is studied based on the distribution of urban
villages and changes in land use. Flood connectedness is seen based on
spatial analysis based on flood-affected areas and changes in land use.
The results obtained from this study, namely the economic, social and
physical transformation of the area in the Mamminasata Metropolitaniii
Area have resulted in most areas having the characteristics of urban
areas, such as economic growth, increase in population and population
density, increase in the number of urban villages, and increase in builtup land. It can also be concluded that there is a connection between
changes in land use and the flood disaster that occurred in Makassar. |
