Summary:PT XYZ is an engineering and trading contractor company that have specialities and market in military segment in Indonesia. Start from the family owned business type located in Bandung, Jawa Barat, PT XYZ have settle various contract with PT Pindad and Indonesian Infantry to produce various military product from small equipment to the tactical vehicles. The defense industry in Indonesia from 2016 to 2022 have a tendency of growing and increase of competition in military business segment. The challenge for PT XYZ is to find the best approach to increase their revenue stream (market) and possibly increase the company’s competetitve advantage among the competitors. With the challenge and current condition of the company, formulation to maximize company’s potential and increase competitive advantage need to be defined as the military segment in Indonesia is a niche market with high sensitivity and full of political incertainty. The purpose of this study is to find the root cause of why revenue stream of PT XYZ have a declined tendency although the market is on the peak cycle and formulate the best project management approach to increase company’s competitive advantage. To identify the problems, questionnaire of qualitative data collection method is conducted to the stakeholders of the organization from the various layer of management from the company and implement current reality tree method to find the root cause. The approach to solving the issues of this study is using the PMBOK in terms of project quality management approach to find the best alternatives solution. The formulated alternatives then selected with the AHP approach with the expert judgement from the company’s internal stakeholder. To assess current state of the company and mapping the growing path for the organization, this study also implements project maturity model framework by PMSolution. This study will generate short, mid and long term implementation plan for the case study to increase leverage and competitive advantage that can be adaptable to project based company or organization.
