Heat hazard not only causes thermal discomfort but also affects the physiological response of workers. This study aims to identify the work climate, thermal comfort and heat strain, identify environmental variables that influence it and provide control measures to increase thermal comfort based on the Pencentage Mean Vote (PMV) and Percentage of Predicted Dissatisfied (PPD) indices. The research was conducted at 4 units of the Dago tofu factory with a total of 16 research workers. The type of research is analytic observational with cross-sectional method. Calculation of thermal comfort index and physiological response was performed using CBE and PHSFL software and statistical analysis using correlation and regression tests. The results showed that only the boiling area was an area that exceeded the WBGT quality standard for 8 working hours with temperatures reach 29,09?C-30,035?C with moderate category workload and working hours of 75% -100%. Based on the simulation results using the CBE tool, all workers experience thermal discomfort. The Predicted Mean Vote and Predicted Percentage of Disatified values for the boiling areas are 2,52-2,66 (94%-96%), the coagulation areas are 1,41-1,58 (46%-55%), the printing areas are 1,52-1,59 (52%-56%) and the coloring areas are 1,85-2,97 (69%-99%). The results of the simulation of body temperature using the CBE tool along with levels of sweat and water loss using PHSfl show that workers have not experienced heat strain with temperatures below 38?C. The factors that has biggest influence on the thermal comfort index and heat strain indicators are wind speed, radiation temperature, air temperature and clothing insulation, respectively. Modification of the variable wind speed using the CBE tool has been shown to be able to reduce the PMV index by 81%-93% and the PPD value by 87%-94% with the need for a boiling area of 2.5 m/s-3,8 m/s, an area of printing and clumping of 0,5 m/s-1,7 m/s and an area of coloring of 0,4 m/s-2,5 m/s text |
