Description
Summary:The currently popular open learning resource is OpenCourseWare which can be accessed free of charge by anyone via the internet, but there are still many students who are less interested in accessing it because of the lack of interaction and difficulties in accessing the material. This research develops OpenCourseWare for mobile application platforms by applying gamification and using a player-centered design approach that can increase user motivation in using it and make it easier to access. This study uses the Design Research Methodology framework and a player- centered design approach by testing it using the System Usability Scale to measure application usability and the Intrinsic Motivation Inventory to measure user motivation. The results show that the use of the OpenCourseWare mobile application by applying gamification and using a player-centered design approach can increase user motivation and make it more accessible. This research shows an increase in user motivation and ease of accessing significant learning resources from using the OpenCourseWare mobile application. Student perceptions of the use of applications are generally very positive and useful.
