Description
Summary:PT Semen Padang is a company in the cement manufacturing industry. Limestone is the main raw material, which they extract through open-pit mining methods. To improve their operations, they use rock blasting to excavate rocks. The size of the resulting rock fragments from the blasting is an important factor in determining the effectiveness of the blasting activities. The research aims to analyze the differences in rock fragmentation results obtained from blasting using the Kuz-Ram method and image analysis. Through this analysis, there are differences in the values of the uniformity index (n) and average fragmentation (?????). Subsequently, based on these differences, correction factors will be determined and applied to modify the Kuz-Ram model. The study proposed a new modified Kuz-Ram model with correction factors in the equation to predict the average size of fragmentation (?????) was 0,6287 and in the uniformity index (n) was 0,8569. This modified Kuz-Ram model was validated with mean absolute errors are always better than the previous Kuz-Ram model and overall, less than 10% and had a strong correlation between the actual and the modified Kuz-Ram with correlation coefficient of 0,99.
