INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/76614 Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) is one of the most important horticultural crops for human nutrition. In Indonesia, the demand for tomato production increases every year. One approach to enhance tomato production is through improving the growing media. Hugelkultur is a cultivation method that maintains the quality of growing media, adapting the principles of natural soil layering. This research aimed to investigate the effects of applying lamtoro leaf litter and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on modified stratified growing media on the generative phase of SERVO F1 tomato. The study was conducted at the PT East West Seed Indonesia cultivation site in Campaka District, Purwakarta Regency. The research employed a Completely Randomized Design with two factors: stratified growing media variations and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi doses. The stratified media variations consisted of 4 treatments: A0 = EWINDO growing media; A1 = MO (12 cm) + BO (6 cm) + MO (7 cm); A2 = MO (13 cm) + BO (3 cm) + MO (9 cm); A3 = MO (13 cm) + BO (1 cm) + MO (10 cm). MO represents modified media, and BO denotes lamtoro leaf litter organic material. The arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi doses included 4 treatments: B0 = Without mycorrhizae; B1 = Mycorrhizae 10 grams/plant; B2 = Mycorrhizae 15 grams/plant; B3 = Mycorrhizae 20 grams/plant. The results indicated that the variations in stratified growing media and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi doses had no significant effect on pollen viability, fruit count, tomato firmness in the turning and light red stages, and the incidence of fruit cracking. The treatments that resulted in the highest pollen viability and fruit count were A0B1 (89.01%) and A3B3 (30 fruits), respectively. The treatment with the lowest incidence of fruit cracking (0%) was A2B1. Furthermore, stratified media variations significantly influenced the early flowering age of tomatoes, with the best results observed when treated with EWINDO growing media (A0B0, A0B1, A0B2, A0B3). The arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi doses also significantly affected the firmness of tomatoes in the pink stage, with the best outcome when supplemented with 20 grams of mycorrhizae per plant (A1B3). text
