Candida albicansis a type of Candida fungus that generally causes candidiasis infection. Candidiasis is a broad term that refers to cutaneous, mucosal and deep-seated organ infections caused by fungi of the Candida genus, which can occur at any age and usually occur in the setting of easily identifiable risk factors for infection. The objective of this research is to determine the antifungal activity of orange rose (Rosa hybrida Hort.) petals extract against Candida albicans by determining the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) value using the Microdilution Broth method. Orange rose petals simplicia was extracted with ethanol and n-hexane using reflux method and evaporated using a rotary evaporator to obtain a viscous extract of orange rose petals. Determination of the antifungal activity of orange rose petals extract was carried out by determining the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) value using the Broth Microdilution method and obtained MIC values of 1000 ppm for the ethanol extract of the orange rose petals and 4000 ppm for the n-hexane extract of the orange rose petals. text |
