system on underground mining is the development stage, because commonly in this
kind of stage does not have adequate ventilation facilities, which can lead to various
problems such as air distribution and temperature issues. Temperature and air
quantity distribution will be modeled using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) as
a basis of problem identification and analysis. In this study, three variations of
conditions based on the cooling system will be simulated, which cause variations
in the inlet temperature. The three variations of conditions are condition 1 which
is the natural condition, condition 2 which has a cooling system installed at the
portal and condition 3 which has cooling system installed in front of the air intake
channel. From the simulation results on working faces, condition 1 which is the
natural condition, obtained air quantity between 15.09 - 23.97 m3/s, on condition 2
air quantity ranges between 15.96 - 25.47 m3/s and condition 3 in range between
15.59 - 22.79 m3/s. In the mine haul area, the air quantity obtained is approximately
59.73 - 77.12 m3/s as the flow rate decreases when the incoming air temperature
decreases. Based on air temperature simulation obtained that the highest
temperature on condition 1 is 32?, condition 2 temperature is 31,09? and
condition 3 temperatre is 30,45? with mine haul being the area where the
temperature in highest condition. The installation of a cooling system can reduce
the temperature by 3-5% in condition 2 and 13-18% in condition 3. Condition 3 is
the most ideal condition with an effective temperature of less than 27?, in
accordance with the applicable regulations in Indonesia. |
