Globalization has become a phenomenon where developed countries have greater opportunities to gain advantages by weakening the sovereignty of developing and impoverished nations through resource competition. This research aims to enhance the spirit of nationalism among the maritime community of Natuna in the era of globalization, as nationalism is considered one of the attitudes that can enhance national security, particularly for Indonesia. This research employs a mixed methods approach that integrates qualitative and quantitative components. The case study approach is utilized as the primary framework within this methodology. Data are collected through interviews, questionnaires, observations, and document analysis. The data analysis involves descriptive and statistical analyses. The research findings reveal that the level of nationalism among the coastal community of Natuna are in the high category and influenced by both external and internal factors. The external factors include the influences of globalization and foreign cultures, scored at 2.84. On the other hand, the internal factors encompass local wisdom and culture, scoring at 3.25, love for the homeland with a score of 3.10, and diversity with a score of 3.14. text |
