Summary:This research examines the transformation of gender dysphoria into a theme within a fashion collection using the semantic differential method. Gender dysphoria refers to the incongruence between an individual's biological sex and their gender identity. The study employs an explanatory approach through quantitative and qualitative research, focusing on literature review, interviews, and surveys. A moodboard with keywords related to the characteristics of gender dysphoria serves as a guide in the fashion design process. Furthermore, this research utilizes the semantic differential method as a measurement tool in transforming the concept of gender dysphoria into fashion. This method involves the use of a scale with pairs of opposing adjectives to evaluate the characteristics of gender dysphoria. The assessments provided by respondents are utilized to identify significant aspects in the perception of gender dysphoria characteristics. The findings of the research conclude that gender dysphoria can be transformed into a theme within a fashion collection through an in-depth analysis of gender and gender dysphoria. The moodboard, incorporating the selected keywords, serves as a guide to visually represent gender dysphoria based on respondents' perceptions. This approach allows for the creation of authentic visualizations in fashion design that resonate with individuals experiencing gender dysphoria. Overall, this research yields a fashion collection inspired by gender dysphoria and employs the semantic differential method as a measurement tool. The research findings provide insights and guidance in developing authentic fashion designs that portray gender dysphoria accurately.
