Human needs for natural resources and infrastructure development often threaten the existence of riparian vegetation which can result in changes in fauna composition. This study aims to obtain information on fauna species composition including species richness, feeding guild, and fauna species similarity index in three riparian ecosystems in South Bali, and analyze the potential of feeding vegetation for fauna in the three locations. The research was conducted in October-November 2022 and located in the Ijo Gading River, Tukad Bakung, and Tukad Bajera 1, which are riparian areas located in agricultural and residential areas, protected forest areas, and limited production forest areas (HPT) KPH West Bali, respectively. The data collection method used in this study for bird species is point count, for mammals, reptiles, and amphibians is Visual Encounter Survey (VES), and for vegetation is the quadrat method. The results showed that there was a diversity of fauna and food plants in the three riparian locations observed. Tukad Bakung had the highest number of fauna with 34 species, while Ijo Gading River and Tukad Bajera 1 had the same number of fauna with 28 species. Although there was variation in feeding groups across the three sites, insectivores were the most dominant feeding group at all sites, followed by granivores at Ijo Gading River, carnivores at Tukad Bakung, and frugivores at Tukad Bajera 1. The three sites also had different feeding plant diversity, with Ijo Gading River having the highest seed feeding vegetation, Tukad Bakung having the highest nectar feeding vegetation, and Tukad Bajera 1 having the highest fruit feeding vegetation. The results showed a relationship between the presence of faunal groups and the food vegetation available at each site. The faunal similarity index in the three riparian sites was close to zero, indicating that the faunal composition in the three sites was different from each other. text
