INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/76852 In the realm of education, a fair and accurate evaluation is essential through a method known as examination. Currently, the existing supervision cannot completely prevent cheating, particularly in the forms of impersonation and proxy attendance. Therefore, a problem is formulated in this research, namely: 1. Can a Attendance System utilizing Face Recognition tools efficiently aid in preventing academic dishonesty? 2. What is the effective implementation of a Attendance System within a classroom setting? To address these issues, an Attendance System was developed using the developmental method of a mobile Face Recognition Application. This system is designed to detect the faces of class participants and validate their identities, thus preventing academic dishonesty. Following the development of the application with the assistance of various tools, several tests were conducted on the Attendance System. The tests were in accordance with the research problem formulation, specifically: 1. Testing the speed/efficiency of face recognition technology. 2. Testing external factors in the face recognition operational system. 3. Testing the implementation formula for the placement of the face recognition camera. 4. Testing the accuracy and optimal timing of the face recognition operational system. From these four tests, results and conclusions were obtained. The class participant attendance system utilizing the face recognition application can operate efficiently, detecting multiple faces simultaneously at a rate of 0.83 seconds per face. Furthermore, the implementation of an effective attendance system involves capturing images during an event when participants face the camera, with an accuracy of 75.17%. Additionally, a camera angle formula was developed in this study, and the optimal system scenario is an event where students look towards the camera, positioned at the center top of the classroom. text
