INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/76879 The implications of the Hofstede cultural model in interaction design and culture- based deign for digital products of various domains has been researched by a number of scholars through the years. As an attempt to research the effects of using a culture-based approach in interaction design for an Indonesian audience, as well as increase the ease of use and overall satisfaction of the World Education website from an Indonesian user’s perspective, a web-based application is made to reflect the localization of the aforementioned website. The development workflow utilizes the culture-based design process model and other considerations, such as Indonesian user needs, common characteristics between local sites, and implications of the Hofstede cultural model. The application is designed using Figma, implemented using React, and developed in two iterations. Evaluation is done qualitatively in the first iteration and quantitatively in the second iteration. The design and implementation process strives to fulfill usability goals such as efficiency, learnability, and utility, as well as give users a good experience that leaves a motivating and helpful impression of the final digital product. Efficiency is measured by the single ease question (SEQ) metric, whereas learnability and utility are measured by observing and quantifying the success rate of tasks related to application features. Furthermore, user experience goals and overall interface satisfaction will be graded by Likert scale answers regarding related website elements. The evaluation results show that the localized site has higher usability goal scores and overall interface satisfaction compared to the original site, in which several features have a significant increase. User experience goals are also fulfilled by the localized site. The design attributes that contribute the most in the localization process are visual representation, layout, and navigation. text |

The implications of the Hofstede cultural model in interaction design and culture-
based deign for digital products of various domains has been researched by a
number of scholars through the years. As an attempt to research the effects of
