PLN (Persero) UIP3B Sumatera as a company engaged in the electricity business is responsible for the continuity of electricity flow from power plants to the public through transmission networks on Sumatra Island. The energy management process carried out by UIP3B Sumatera currently considers economic, reliability and quality aspects in the operation of the Sumatra power system. The Indonesian government’s vision and policy regarding carbon-free or net-zero emissions by 2060 will greatly affect the sustainability of PT. PLN (Persero) UIP3B Sumatera’s business, especially when carbon taxes are implemented in the coalfired power plant sector. With the implementation of carbon taxes, companies are required to be able to adapt to these changes. Environmental aspects will be an additional aspect and a major concern in operating the electricity system in Sumatra. Regarding this carbon tax implementation plan, one of the adaptations made by PT.PLN (Persero) UIP3B Sumatra is to manage energy by including carbon emissions variables when carrying out optimization processes using jROS-Siemens software. This is intended to obtain the amount of CO2e emissions which are then calculated using the Cap and Tax mechanism so that the amount of carbon tax from PLTU units in the Sumatra System is obtained. This research was conducted using two case studies, namely basic cases and cases with added carbon emission variables in the Cost Simulation process. The change indicator is seen in the difference in Production Cost (BPP) for each PLTU unit or changes in BPP from the Sumatra System using a carbon tax value of Rp. 30 / kgCO2e. The results of this final project task are used to see the effect of carbon emissions in the Cost Simulation process to produce green energy and as a tool for dispatchers in operating the Sumatra Power System text |

PT.
The results of this final project task are used to see the effect of carbon emissions in the Cost Simulation process to produce green energy and as a tool for dispatchers in operating the Sumatra Power System
