Pangandaran's geographical location, which has a coastline of 91 km, makes it a favorite destination for marine tourism in West Java. Pangandaran Beach is located in the collision zone (subduction) between the Indo-Australian and Eurasian Plates, causing Pangandaran Beach to be prone to earthquakes and tsunamis. The existence of earthquake and tsunami risks requires effective disaster risk communication from stakeholders, especially the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), to increase public awareness and knowledge and take appropriate actions. This study aims to identify disaster risk communication and the actors involved in disaster emergency communication, as well as understand how tourism business actors as the main communicators for tourists take protective actions such as shooting. The research method used is mixed research methods. Interviews were used as primary data collection techniques to understand disaster risk communication, while questionnaires were distributed to tourism business actors to identify protective action decisions. Data analysis used content analysis and descriptive statistical analysis. The results of the study show that communication in the Pangandaran Tourism Area has fulfilled important elements such as actors, messages, communication channels, recipients, and impacts. BPBD is the leading sector for disaster information, while FKDM and Balawisata act as liaison actors. The early warning system has been well integrated through various communication tools. Overall, the people in the Pangandaran Tourism Object Area have a good understanding of the threat of disaster and the actions that must be taken when there is a tsunami warning. However, there are still some aspects that need to be improved, such as the effectiveness of information dissemination, knowledge about TES shelters, and trust in the tsunami warning system. text
