Description
Summary:After the industrial revolution occurred between 1760-1850 there was an increase in the earth's temperature which was one of the factors causing climate change. Climate change occurs globally which has an impact on every aspect of life, therefore humans are required to adapt to the impacts of climate change disasters. Adaptation to climate change is a way of dealing with the impacts of climate change, in order to be able to make adjustments to all sectors of life and regulate their exposure. In the context of mitigating the impacts of climate change in coastal areas, the coastal area of Pondok Bali Beach, Subang Regency is one of the areas in the north of Java Island which has created a climate change hazard. Mayangan Village and Legon Wetan Village, which are located in the coastal area of Pondok Beach Bali, are already exposed to several climate change disaster hazards, such as 1. Sea Level Rise; 2; abrasion; 3. Tidal floods, 4. Land subsidence. These impacts have affected aspects of the life of rural communities along Pondok Beach Bali. Several ways have been carried out by the Central Government through the River Basin Center of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, one of which is the construction of a 300m long breakwater infrastructure. Central government intervention by building disaster management infrastructure is felt to be less effective. This research has the main objective to formulate a community-based adaptation strategy. The community-based adaptation approach is an adaptation process initiated by the community based on the experience, priorities, knowledge and capacity of the community in developing adaptation strategies to the impacts of climate hazards. This study formulates a community-based adaptation strategy in coastal villages in the Pondok Beach area of Bali by (1) analyzing the dangers of climate change; (2) Analyze the choice of conditions; (3) Analyze the condition of the partnership; (4) Analyze government policies. The results of the analysis show that tidal floods, sea level rise, abrasion and subsidence have occurred in almost all of Mayangan Village and Legon Wetan Village. Adaptation options are still being made individually, not communally. Stakeholders need to coordinate efforts to address climate change and create policies based on localknowledge, experiences, priorities and capacities of the people of Mayangan Village and Legon Wetan Village. Community capacity in adopting base adaptation community response to climate change in the coastal area of Pondok Bali Beach is still quite low. An indication of the low level of community-based adaptation is individual resolution and disharmonious stakeholder relationships. The adaptation strategy is carried out in several stages, namely the stage of gathering information about what climate change disasters are occurring, identifying adaptation options based on input from the community, mapping stakeholders to coordinate, designing strategies or policies for handling climate change in coastal areas based on community input and collaboration. stakeholders, as well as the sustainability of coastal development systems.
