This work was done to find tidal currents, non tidal currents, and constant as part of non tidal currents. Harmonic analysis was carried out for both east component (u) and north component (v) of velocity data to find the diurnal component, semidiurnal component, and long period component of tidal currents. Current prediction as result from TAN program is considered as tidal currents. Non tidal currents was calculating by substracting observational currents with tidal and constant currents. Constant currents dominantly flowing southward was found in Lombok Strait for both stations, every month and depth of observation. This constant currents have variated velocity and direction. Further data processing was done to find out depth variation of constant currents. Constant currents with maximum speed have been found at near surface up to 250 m of depth. After 250 m of depth, mean constant currents decrease and their direction are no longer south. text |
