Summary:Playing games has become a habit and even a necessity for various generations and all walks of life. Along with the development of design science and technology, so many games have been developed with interesting character designs, increasingly innovative storylines, increasingly varied game styles, better visual displays and diverse game systems. Coffee Talk game is a game developed by Indonesian game developer Toge Productions. This visual novel game was released on January 29, 2020 and received quite a good achievement. Coffee Talk games like visual novel games in general prioritize story narratives, using characters as an important element to deliver the narrative. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach using the manga matrix model by Hiroyoshi Tsukamoto and archetype by Jung to identify, explain and provide understanding in the design of Coffee Talk game character design. The results of the research show that aspects that most influence development of characters in Coffee Talk game are mythology and fantasy stories, diverse elements are used in their development. Every character has an archetype, all of Jung's archetypes in the Coffee Talk game represent every human role and personality in reality.
