Summary: | The Coast of Karangsong is located in Indramayu Regency, West Java. The
North Coast of West Java is experiencing erosion with the longest erosion occurring
in the coastal area of Indramayu. In the Karangsong Coast area, erosion occurred as
a result of the clearing of mangrove forest land into ponds which were excessively
converted by coastal residents of Indramayu Regency. High waves are the cause of
very high erosion on Karangsong Beach. If the handling of this problem is not
carried out, it is possible that the damage to coastal areas will increase. Therefore, in
this final project research, wave modeling at Karangsong Coast will be carried out,
design of the coastal protection consisting of structure type planning, layout planning,
and structural cross-sectional dimensions to find out what and how effective coastal
protection structures are used at Karangsong Beach, Indramayu.
The scope of discussion for this final project report consists of conducting literature
studies, collecting and processing environmental data, conducting coastal damage
analysis by looking at changes in the coastline that occur, conducting wave modeling,
determining alternative types of coastal protection structures and designing coastal
protection structures. This research will produce the types of coastal protection
structures to be used along with the cross-sectional dimensions of the structures and
the layout of the coastal protection structures.
