Description
Summary:Food Hub Barelang in Batam City is an area that integrates agricultural activities, fisheries, culinary tourism, and food education tourism. This Food Hub area consists of 4 structurally separated buildings, namely the Food Hall Main Building, Wet Market, Loading Dock, and Greenhouse. In this design thesis, the focus is limited to the Main Building. The construction of the building in this area certainly results in changes in transportation movement patterns, necessitating the design of a transportation system with analysis and planning that can meet the movement needs. The transportation movement patterns are estimated using a trip rate model. Then, the impact of these movement patterns on the performance and behavior of traffic at intersections in the Food Hub Barelang area is analyzed. Based on the estimated traffic flow and its growth, an HRS flexible pavement is designed as the access road to the area. Finally, a one-floor basement parking system is designed by analyzing the parking space requirements using Parking Space Unit (PSU) analysis. Based on the needs analysis and configuration engineering, the parking requirements for cars and motorcycles are determined to be 27 and 94 PSU, respectively, for each vehicle type.
