Description
Summary:Abstract :

The objective of this tesis is to identify the influence of transactional and transformational leadership to the follower attitude in continuous improvement process. Hypothetically transformational leadership will influence positively to the follower attitude in continuous quality improvement, and transactional leadership will influence negatively to the follower attitude in continuous quality improvement. In this research Bank Bali Business Unit Padang and PT Jasa Marga head office with 96 employee as respondent have been chosen as the case studies.

In this research, I take willingness to take a risk, openness and criticism as dependent variables for follower attitude in continuous improvement. Factor analysis and multiple regression analysis are the statistical method to analyze the phenomenon. The result of the analysis have showed that follower attitude in continuous improvement is influenced positively by transactional leadership and in this case with contingent reward. This phenomenon is contrary to the research hypothesis. Transformational leadership only influence follower attitude in separate cases that cannot be generalized.

Analysis process has indicated that the influence of transactional and transformational leadership to the follower attitude in continuous improvement is influenced by economic condition and organizational culture. With these indications, in the next research we have to considerate this variable as moderate variables.
