Summary: | The problem of poverty and the problem of slum settlements is a common problem in urban
areas, including in the city of DKI Jakarta. These two problems are mainly caused by the high
population, which is generally caused by the level of urbanization. To solve the problem of
slum settlements, the government has several solutions, one of which is the relocation of people
in slum settlements into flats. But this solution has not been able to solve the main problem of
the emergence of slums and slums, namely community poverty. The Marunda Urban Village
Flat Complex is one of the flats which has the main occupants in the form of low-income
people. To solve this problem, we need a program that can improve the economic conditions
of the poor. Therefore, this research was carried out to determine the form of community
economic empowerment that is in accordance with the needs of the people who inhabit the
Marunda Sub-District Flats Complex.
This study aims to analyze the characteristics of economic activity, determinants of
economic development, and forms of economic development activities that are appropriate for
the people in the Marunda Flats Complex. This study uses primary data and secondary data
collected through interviews, observation, and questionnaires, and literature research. The data
in this study were then processed using the descriptive analysis method and the Pearson
correlation analysis method.
Through the analysis carried out identified the economic characteristics and social capital
of the residents of the Marunda Sub-District Flats Complex, in the form of jobs, income,
expenses, social activities, and norms that form community social ties. Then also identified the
main factors that affect people's income, namely their type of work and involvement in certain
economic development programs, and factors that do not affect their income, namely age, level
of education, number of children, location of work, length of work in a week, and level of
knowledge digitize them. Also identified are the economic development programs that have
been running and their effects and the form of the concept of economic development that is in
accordance with the conditions of the community, namely economic development through the
concept of community empowerment. |
