INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/77280 Yogyakarta is known as a city of education and culture. The statistical data graph shows that the number of tourists coming to Yogyakarta has increased again in the years after 2020 after the decreased during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Government of Bantul Regency supports the development of the Special Region of Yogyakarta as a central tourist destination in Indonesia by diversifying tourism products. Baros was developed as a mangrove conservation area because it is located in an estuary, area between the south coast and the mouth of the Opak River. The mangrove area is considered a new object in Yogyakarta that attracts people's interest, especially with the unique habitat of the egret bird as an object of observation. Baros Mangrove Conservation as a marine tourism object managed by the Keluarga Pemuda Pemudi Baros (KP2B) has not shown significant development so far. Social problems regarding support in tourism and educational activities such as the unavailability of visitor tourism facilities and the lack of information that can be obtained by tourists indicate the need for landscape design. The abrasion, coastal flooding and waste are also environmental problems that need to be considered in developing mangrove areas. However, the existence of other coastal attractions nearby (Parangtritis, Depok, Samas) is able to be the great support for planning the Baros Mangrove Conservation area to be developed as a tourist spot. The goal of the final project is to produce a plan for the Baros Mangrove area using eco-tourism as an main concept. Eco-tourism is understood as environmentally conscious, and this type of tourism is a form of alternative tourism which in its design emphasizes responsibility for the environment and provides opportunities for local communities to participate in the planning and management area. In order to answer the problem, an analysis of the physical, biological and cultural inventory data of the area must be done to transformed into design concepts. The results of the design are site plans for tourist facilities, calculations of the physical carrying capacity of tourism, site zoning, alternative tour packages, tourist circulation flow schemes and vegetation plans. text |
