INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/77293 Significant population growth is a major challenge for cities in various countries, because it has an impact on the need for space on an ongoing basis, especially for residence as a private space and unconsciously excludes public space. Public open space as an important asset in meeting recreational, social and environmental needs, has experienced a decrease in quantity and quality, which can have an impact on community solidarity and concern. Adequate public space also unlocks potential and enables a city to function fairly and efficiently. Unfortunately, in the development process, there are groups whose access, control and participation are often neglected, resulting in the development and provision of facilities, including public spaces, which tend to be gender non-responsive. The issue of gender equality is an important concern in the development of public open space, because the existence of adequate public open space can help improve the quality of human life and solve the problem of gender equality and justice. The application of smart living and gender responsiveness in the development of public open space is important to be able to answer the problem of providing public open space. The purpose of this study is to identify the quality of public open spaces with the application of smart living and gender responsiveness in DKI Jakarta based on the variables of accessibility, use and activity, safety and comfort, and provide recommendations for efforts to improve the quality accordingly. This study uses a qualitative approach with content analysis, scoring analysis, and literature studies to find precedents for efforts to improve the quality of public open spaces. The results of the study show that the quality of public open space in DKI Jakarta is good in terms of accessibility, use and activity, as well as convenience, but the safety variable needs improvement. The recommendations for efforts prepared are based on the results of measuring the quality of the current RPTRAs, resulting in nine efforts that can be made to further improve the quality of the RPTRAs, especially to accommodate gender issues that are still developing. text |

Significant population growth is a major challenge for cities in various countries,
because it has an impact on the need for space on an ongoing basis, especially for
residence as a private space and unconsciously excludes public space. Public open
space as an important asset in meeting recreational, social and environmental
needs, has experienced a decrease in quantity and quality, which can have an
impact on community solidarity and concern. Adequate public space also unlocks
potential and enables a city to function fairly and efficiently. Unfortunately, in the
development process, there are groups whose access, control and participation are
often neglected, resulting in the development and provision of facilities, including
public spaces, which tend to be gender non-responsive. The issue of gender equality
is an important concern in the development of public open space, because the
existence of adequate public open space can help improve the quality of human life
and solve the problem of gender equality and justice. The application of smart
living and gender responsiveness in the development of public open space is
important to be able to answer the problem of providing public open space. The
purpose of this study is to identify the quality of public open spaces with the
application of smart living and gender responsiveness in DKI Jakarta based on the
variables of accessibility, use and activity, safety and comfort, and provide
recommendations for efforts to improve the quality accordingly. This study uses a
qualitative approach with content analysis, scoring analysis, and literature studies
to find precedents for efforts to improve the quality of public open spaces. The
results of the study show that the quality of public open space in DKI Jakarta is
good in terms of accessibility, use and activity, as well as convenience, but the
safety variable needs improvement. The recommendations for efforts prepared are
based on the results of measuring the quality of the current RPTRAs, resulting in
nine efforts that can be made to further improve the quality of the RPTRAs,
especially to accommodate gender issues that are still developing.
