Description
Summary:The increasing number of elderly individuals without adequate fulfillment of their needs highlights the importance of designing housing that focuses on the well-being of seniors. The primary focus of this thesis is on the Socio-Psychological aspect due to its significant influence on the lives of seniors. The purpose of this design is to provide a solution to the aging transition. Cognitive decline and memory loss are part of the aging transition that can lead to stress and feelings of loneliness. Therefore, a Neuro-Architecture approach is proposed, which activates "Brain Pharmaceuticals" to enhance adaptive behavior and improve the cognitive and memory functions of seniors. The method used in this design is the Force-based framework, supported by data analysis, literature review, observations, and interviews. Design criteria include Spatial Configuration for spatial arrangement that enhances memory, Self-Actualization to increase productivity and social interaction, Nature Context for health and tranquility, and Psychological Senses for multisensory comfort. The primary goal is to create housing that helps seniors grow and adapt by improving cognitive function and quality of life. Thus, they can face the aging population process more independently and with better mental preparedness.
