However, data provided by the Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) shows that 65% of Muslims in Indonesia cannot read the Qur'an. In order to reduce the illiteracy rate of the Qur'an in Indonesia, learning to read the Qur'an (hijaiyah letters) needs to be introduced from an early age. Early childhood is known as the golden age, where children at this age have the ability to learn things quickly. However, from observations made by researchers and teachers on learning to read hijaiyah letters carried out by early childhood, it shows some problems in children such as difficulty on focusing, the lack of interest and motivation to learn, difficulty on remembering letters, and difficulty in distinguishing letters from one another. One of the causes of this problem is the limited learning tool used by the teacher, where the current tool that used by teachers are considered less attractive to children and less able to facilitate various kinds of children's learning styles. This research aims to; (1) identify the design elements in the “Smart Hafiz version 6” letter learning feature that influence the interest and ability to read hijaiyah letters in early childhood, and (2) measuring interest and ability to read hijaiyah letters in early childhood using the letter learning feature in the “Smart Hafiz version 6”. This research adopts a mixed methods approach, specifically an exploratory sequential design. The qualitative analysis method will be conducted using the Miles, Huberman, and Sadlana (2014) model analysis, which includes data codensation, data display, and drawing conclusions. As for the quantitative research will use the paired sample t test using SPSS. text |
