Description
Summary:Location of research area is at Sungaipinang area, Sungaipinang Sub-District, Banjar District, South Kalimantan Provincial. Geographic position of research area is between 03° 07' 51.464000" - 03° 13' 18.948000" S and 115° 13' 21.249000" - 115° 18' 45.059000" E. Wide of research area is ? 100 km2 ( 10 km x 10 km ). Geomorphology of research areadivided into two units, consist of Folded Mountain characterized by ridges and valley and Complex Mountain that characterized by existence of vary lithology. Lithologies of research area were deposited in Pre-Tersier to Quarter. Stratigraphic of research area consist of five units, from old to young are, Limestone Unit wich has been deposited at Early Cretaceous (equal with Batununggal Formation), Andesite Unit which has been deposited at Late Cretaceous (equal with Pitanak Formation), Sandstone Unit (equal with Pudak Formation) which has same deposition time at Late Cretaceous, Sandstone - Claystone Unit (equal with Tanjung Formation) was deposited at Eocene, Alluvial Deposit Unit which has been deposited at Holocene – Recent. Structural Geology of research area grew as faults and folds. Faults of research area consist of Tamban Normal fault that grew as initial movement of basin forming then followed by Hatungun strike-slip which have up dextral movement, Rantau Bakula strike-slip which have up sinistral movement, Pakutik strike-slip which have down sinistral movement. All strike-slip faults were formed during Meratus uplift. Cleat in Tanjung Formation at research area have perpendicular position with bedding plane of coal and have orientation N - S and NNE – SSE for face cleat and E – W and WNW - ESE. Physical property of cleat at research area consist of length, space, aperture, intensity, and density, have relation between one of them. Cleat at research area formed as implication of coal diagenetic.
