Taking at face value, such discrepancy is caused by new physics. In this study, we seek explanations from new physics involving new scalar fields. The gauge symmetry and the particle content of the Standard Model remain unchanged. We explore all possible bilinear combinations of fermions involving muon in order to acquire Yukawa terms. From this analysis, several new scalars that are Lorentz and gauge invariant are part of well-established models. We chose the Zee-Babu model, the two-Higgs-Doublet model, and scalar Leptoquark models for our study. One-loop Feynman diagrams involving scalar fields are calculated to get the correction of g. Out of these models, we constrain our search for models in which g ? 2 > 0 can be acquired. We then proceed to list and study possible phenomenological implications from models which could explain muon g ? 2. These phenomenological consequences further constrain the condition needed to explain muon g ? 2. text |
