INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/77626 Degradation and deforestation of forests in Indonesia have led to the loss of approximately 28.6 million hectares of forest cover. The Indonesian Statistics Center in 2020 noted that the degradation and deforestation of forests in Indonesia were caused by several factors, one of which is anthropogenic activities converting forests into plantations or agricultural land. The management of degraded areas requires area rehabilitation. Land suitability analysis can be conducted to evaluate a degraded area and can serve as a basis for optimal and productive plant cultivation planning. The research was carried out by classifying and interpreting the land cover of Taman Wisata Alam Gunung Pancar (TWA). Land suitability analysis was conducted by collecting data on land conditions, such as topography, rainfall, soil type, and land cover. Land suitability analysis is determined by identifying and assessing factors or limiting criteria that influence land use and regional development. The impact of a criterion is identified by assigning weights to each land use suitability criterion. Weighting is done based on literature studies. The land cover in Gunung Pancar TWA with a 1:25,000 scale map consists of six land cover classes: vegetated areas comprising secondary forests and natural forests (384.50 hectares), agricultural land (51.88 hectares), open land (25.36 hectares), water bodies (0.33 hectares), and road networks (1.81 hectares). The rehabilitation target is focused on degraded lands, which are agricultural and open lands, where approximately 9.63% (±44.41 hectares) of the total 11.19% (±51.61 hectares) of agricultural land can be rehabilitated. However, there is 1.56% of agricultural land in unsuitable classes for rehabilitation. Moreover, most of the open land has conditions conducive to rehabilitation, especially on land prone to landslides. Meanwhile, 53.1% of the land is unsuitable for rehabilitation. The majority of land unsuitable for rehabilitation is composed of secondary forests and natural forests that are not degraded lands. The research results indicate that there are 77.24 hectares of degraded land consisting of agricultural and open lands, with 78.78% of that land area being suitable for rehabilitation. text
