INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/77645 Stress is one of the physiological and psychological responses experienced by humans when there is a discrepancy between demands and their ability to cope with those demands. In some cases, negative stress, which is extreme, prolonged, or poorly managed, can be a contributing factor to emotional and mental disorders. If ignored, negative stress can exacerbate or trigger significant physical and psychological impacts, affecting not only adults but also children and adolescents. While the prevalence of stress in adolescents is increasing, the treatment of psychological disorders in Indonesia currently faces challenges such as inadequate mental rehabilitation facilities and the persistent negative stigma associated with mental disorders. These issues have become the primary concerns in the design of this project. By applying an approach rooted in stress recovery strategies, including the presence of nature, restorative environments, activities that support the interests of adolescents, and social interactions based on the Biophilic Design Theory, Therapeutic Design, Sense of Community Theory, and a combination of theories related to the rehabilitation environment for adolescents, this project aims to provide a center for adolescent mental rehabilitation that also serves as a facility for stress release to prevent the onset of physical and psychological disorders, as well as the negative societal stigma. These goals are then translated into design strategies for the mass and spatial arrangement that can aid in the physical and psychological recovery of users while engaging in activities within this project. text
