Charcoal Formation in the "ONE PIECE" field The West Natuna Basin is one of the hydrocarbon producing basins in Indonesia. For the development of this field, reservoir characterization is needed to describe the reservoir well. The lithology of this formation is clean sandstone & shale sandstone, so an effective method is needed to see the sandstone and shale separately. In this study, reservoir characterization was carried out by curved pseudo elastic impedance (CPEI) and pseudo elastic impedance lithology (PEIL) analysis. Sensitivity analysis of log data shows that the elastic parameter Vp/Vs is sensitive to hydrocarbons (pore liquids) and mu-rho is quite sensitive to lithology. From these two elastic parameters, an EEI volume reflectivity is then made using the Ursenbach and steward two-term AVO equations. The volume reflectivity of the elastic parameters is then inverted with a linear programming sparse spike. The elastic parameter inversion results are used as input from the CPEI equation which projects the water saturation volume and PEIL which projects the volume density, then volume porosity is made from volume density. The results showed that the results of CPEI and PEIL were quite good in mapping the distribution of lithology and hydrocarbons both vertically and horizontally. From the results of the slicing carried out, it can be seen on the water saturation & porosity distribution sections of the hydrocarbons and their lithology which shows potential in high areas. text |
