Description
Summary:Water supply is the biggest challenge for industry players in sustainability and business development. Leading companies including PT.X which is a beverage and food company in Karawang Regency realize that in order to maintain operations, it needs to be a responsible water manager and take action on water stewardship. Water Stewardship is defined as using water in a way that is socially just, environmentally sustainable, and economically beneficial. The Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) is a global organization focused on responsible and sustainable water management. AWS develops and maintains the Alliance Water Stewardship Standard which provides a framework for organizations to manage water in a sustainable way, protect water resources, and contribute to environmental and social sustainability. This study aims to determine the vulnerability analysis of PT. X’s raw water based on availability and quality with the IKA method and determine the AWS Standard value of the efforts made by PT.X to implement water stewardship with the AWS Standard V3.1 method set by the Alliance for Water Stewardship as the latest certification guide. From the research, it was found that there is a risk of water in the form of depletion of water discharge (low to medium) fluctuating to 50 l/sec at the lowest point, the risk of waste polluting the river with Fe and COD parameters has an upward trend, the overall water quality index of the Citarum River in 2022 is 45.12 with a mild pollution status with this value not reaching the 2022 target and decreasing from the previous year. The implementation of water stewardship carried out by PT.X has reached AWS platinum status for now with a total score of 132.5.
