water, but sources of clean water are decreasing in terms of quality and quantity.
Surakarta City is one of the cities in Central Java Province which has an area of 46,72
km2 with a population of 523.008 people. Surakarta City is also a city with the highest
population density in Central Java Province. Therefore, the demand for drinking water
in Surakarta City is predicted to continue to increase every year. This study examines
the population's drinking water needs for household needs and the aspects that affect
it, consisting of water sources, socio-economic, and water quality. The method used is
a survey through questionnaires, interviews, and water sampling. Questionnaires
distributed online and offline, filled out by 440 samples by simple random sampling
method. Data processing was done with Microsoft excel and then analyzed using SPSS
25 software with non-parametric tests. The results showed that the average household
drinking water use in Surakarta City was 159,20±48,52 liters/person/day. Aspects that
have a relationship with water consumption are economic level, education level,
gender, occupation, number of family members, PDAM water continuity, and water
quality physical parameters.
