Microorganism do exist in packaged drinking water, AccordingtoIndonesian National Standard (SNI), final total plate count should be 1,0 x 105 coloniesi/mL max. Therefore, analysis on microorganism activity in several conditions is conducted. Water quality and more supporting data are collected. For comparison, Refilled water is also analyzed. The methods used are according toSNI 01-3554-2006 and Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater (SMEWW)Microorganism analysis used Media Filter method, using Plate Count Agar (PCA) for total plate count and Eosin Methylene Blue Agar (EMBA) for total coliformcount. Water quality data were obtained with methods in SMEWW. The results obtained are microorganism grew and decreased with time with range of 0-244colonies/100 ml on total plate count while it is 0 for total coliform. Slowest growthrate is on the chilled samples. Dissolved Oxygen, Ammonia, and Phosphate af ects microbial growth while UV light af ects its decrease. As a comparison, BottledDrinking Water has better quality overall than Refilled water. text |
