PT Dirgantara Indonesia is an aircraft manufacturing company located in Bandung. In fulfilling customer requests, it was found that there were piles of components that had not yet been processed, causing delays in fulfilling customer requests. The production schedule that is being carried out at PTDI now is using the priority method. Parts with higher priority will be processed first. To be able to minimize delays in fulfilling customer demands, a better method is needed so it is able to minimize production makespan. The method which was developed to answer the scheduling problems at PTDI is a genetic algorithm. The algorithm developed in this study consists of selection, crossover, mutation, and elimination stages. Algorithm development is translated into Python software for easier and faster calculation methods. By using probability of mutation 0.2 and probability of crossover 0.5, a scheduling sequence is produced along with job assignments to machines that can produce a makespan value that is smaller than the one with the existing method.
