INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/77807 As global import activities continue to increase, the operational activities at terminals also intensify. However, this does not necessarily guarantee an increase in the terminal's profits. The presence of free days at the terminal attracts customers to store imported containers for free for one day, thereby hindering the flow of new container arrivals and terminal operations. Therefore, a proposed design for a new import container storage tariff is put forth, aiming to maximize terminal profit by leveraging data and conditions specific to the Koja Container Terminal (TPK). The optimal solution to this issue is sought through an optimization model. The decision variables in this research include the container storage tariff and the duration of the free-time period. Considered parameters encompass the count of imported containers, the number of available ground slots at the terminal, container stacks, container handling time using quay cranes, and the costs associated with storing containers in Warehouse Line II. The optimization model yields an optimal container storage tariff of Rp50,681/TEU-day with no free time period. To accommodate the proposed container storage tariff scheme, a suggested container storage flow is devised, based on potential changes in terminal behavior and container owners' actions. The proposed scheme is validated through a survey method directed at stakeholders of TPK Koja. The resulting proposed design from this research is anticipated to contribute to problem-solving at TPK Koja and offer novel insights for container terminals more broadly. text
