Description
Summary:A river is an important ecosystem for human life because it is often used to fulfill daily needs. One of the rivers with a significant role in Bandung City is the Cikapundung River which flows into the Citarum River. Population growth in the Cikapundung watershed triggers an increase in land use that causes river quality degradation, especially the BOD and COD, making it necessary to form a controlling strategy for pollution. In this study, the strategy used is water quality modeling using Qual2Kw software, where the sources of pollutants that enter the river are analyzed to create a model and calibrated using NRMSE, then modified with various pollution scenarios. The largest source of potential BOD pollutant load which enters the river are urban residences (52.85%) and potential COD pollutant load are industries (52.32%). The results of the BOD and COD model calibration resulted in NRMSE values of 0.18 and 0.09. The simulation where the COD parameter meets the Class II Quality Standard is Scenario 8, where all pollutant load values are reduced by 90%, while the BOD meets it in Scenario 9, where all pollutant load values are reduced by 90% with point sources and urban residences’ discharge reduced by 85%.
