Description
Summary:Indonesia has coastline around 81.000 km, so Indonesia has a lot of potential coastal resources. Ocean waves sustain great energy that has potential to damage coastal areas, so it is necessary to protect the coast. One of the natural coastal protection is mangrove forest. In process of rehabilitation of mangrove forest, mangrove seedlings need to be protected so that mangroves can grow optimally. Protectors of mangrove seedlings are also called temporary coastal protection, which can be in the form of breakwater group of bamboo poles. This study was conducted with random wave variations according significant wave height (Hs) and peak period (Tp). Significant wave height (Hs) used in this research are 0.15 m, 0.10 m, and 0.08 m. The peak period ranges from 1.17 seconds to 5.56 seconds. In this study there are 10 wave variations. The result showed that breakwater group of bamboo poles more efficient than breakwater single bamboo pole. Breakwater group of bamboo pole can reduct wave height up to 34.25%
